First Protestant Seele
New Braunfels, Texas
This conceptual feasibility project envisions the meticulous restoration of the historic Seele Building, returning it to its original 1925 function as a vibrant performing arts theater. The renovation thoughtfully incorporates contemporary programming, including a second-floor library, acoustically refined music classrooms, and a dynamic basement-level youth program. A striking new stair and elevator tower will serve as a sculptural intervention, establishing an inviting and accessible entry point to the Seele while seamlessly integrating with the building’s historic fabric. Additionally, Assemble + Co is crafting a cohesive, pedestrian-focused campus, weaving together the site’s architectural legacy—including the 1875 church—through a series of interconnected courtyards that foster movement, interaction, and a renewed sense of place.
