Gruene Station is a newly constructed, two-story retail building that blends seamlessly into the historic fabric of Gruene. Situated at the intersection of old and new, the design thoughtfully connects the area’s rich history with its evolving landscape.

The building maintains a smaller scale by preserving existing trees along the street and incorporating architectural elements characteristic of Gruene, such as antique tan brick, an elevated front porch, and breezeway-inspired dog trots. The second floor features a spacious open-air patio, carefully aligned with the historic street to provide direct views of Gruene Hall and the iconic water tower.

A steel overhang and trellis provide shade from the Texas sun, enhancing both comfort and energy efficiency. With a balance of traditional materials and modern functionality, Gruene Station respects its surroundings while contributing to the area’s continued growth.
