Muck And Fuss
In the heart of historic downtown New Braunfels, Texas, this craft beer and gourmet burger restaurant is thoughtfully designed to blend modern aesthetics with the area’s rich architectural heritage. Sharing an open courtyard with the iconic Prince Solms Inn, the building features expansive northern glazing, offering striking views of the illuminated brick façade of the Inn. Clerestory windows artfully frame architectural details of the surrounding historic structures.
The design draws inspiration from local industrial and agricultural influences, incorporating exposed steel to support a dramatic double cantilever canopy that wraps two sides of the building. At the rear, German Smear limestone pays homage to traditional masonry, while the front features a wood lattice façade reminiscent of German fachwerk style. Galvanized siding completes the design, reflecting the industrial character of nearby grain silos.
Every detail, from the custom-built furniture and lighting to the steel elements, was meticulously designed and crafted by the architect. This hands-on approach, combined with close collaboration with the contractor, highlights a seamless fusion of artistry and functionality, delivering a one-of-a-kind dining and architectural experience.
